The Lookout Safari Lodge is located within the malaria free Dinokeng Big 5 Game Reserve, a short 30 min drive from Pretoria, Gauteng, South Africa or approximately 70 minutes drive from OR. Tambo International Airport. The name of the lodge originates from the view offered from the central lodge area which overlooks a natural dam which attracts various game species, including the Big 5, allowing the guest to enjoy game sightings from the comfort of the lodge area.

It is designed around a central entertainment area raised on to a high platform ensuring unsurpassed views over the bush. The entertainment area offers a seating and viewing area, dining area for 10 and a fully equipped kitchen and built in braai. The fire pit next to the swimming pool and entertainment area allows for evenings spent under the stars around a crackling fire. In the daytime guest can soak up the summer sun lounging next to the splash pool.If game viewing is no longer an option the lounge also offers DSTV facilities.

The Lookout Safari Lodge offers 4 luxury non ? smoking self-catering tented chalets, each uniquely designed to cater for privacy and to maximize the bush experience for the visiting guest. The en?suite chalets are ideally suited for a couple's romantic weekend getaway. Each chalet has a small equipped kitchen and a patio dining area as well as its own private bushveld boma and braai/barbeque facility, providing the opportunity to enjoy the perfect camp fire under starry lit African skies.

The Lookout Safari Lodge can also be booked in its entirety by small groups or friends, being it a family gathering for a special event or an executives' ?bos beraad? or ?lekgotla?. Guest visiting the Lookout Safari Lodge has the option to view game in the comfort of their own vehicle through selfdrive game viewing routes offered by the Dinokeng Game Reserve or to book a game drive which is conducted in an open safari game viewer vehicle. Notwithstanding the Big 5 roaming the area, the Lodge and its surrounding area is a birders paradise, ideal for bird watching.

We had a WONDERFUL stay at the beautiful Lookout lodge! We can confidently say it is one of the best places we've been to in the South African bushveld. A stunning location allowing such a connection with nature but with all the necessities and beautiful finishings to allow for true relaxation! The lodge manager, Derek, was so attentive and friendly, making our stay very welcoming! The lodge owners facilitated easy communication and made booking etc a breeze. We will definitely be back! We would highly recommend The Lookout Lodge to anyone wanting to escape from the city and reconnect with nature all while feeling relaxed and pampered by the end of it!

A gem in the bush by

Lookout safari lodge is perfect for that peaceful/private/romantic getaway with units that are a perfect combination of luxury and wilderness by being able to open up the 'walls' for an ultimate bush experience. Not forgetting the amazing service by the grounds keeper(derek) who will attend to any of your needs in a positive manner. This is really a true gem in in the bush

Beautiful, clean and spacious chalet! Although the place was fully booked, we never heard or saw any of the other people and we were sitting outside our chalet all the time! It was so nice to be able to have a nice braai on our own at our chalet and not to share any facilities with other guests. Will definitely stay there again, without a doubt!

From the arrival to departure, excellent Lodge total offering, well equipped and we were looked after by Edwin & Simon whom did an excellent job. Nothing was to much to ask for, the views from the Lodge, animals coming late afternoon to water pond - luxury feel in the bush. All family members / 7 Pax were so please and every expectation was surpassed, privacy of Chalets absolutely perfect. Central area for relaxing, cooking and dining was perfectly equipped.
