Lord Canarvon Guest House offers modern accommodation in this beautiful Karoo house, built in 1886 by Frans Carel Te Water. The house has been restored to its former glory, evoking memories of a bygone era of Karoo grandeur.

The guesthouse provides accommodation in 21 air-conditioned rooms, all including satellite TVs and en-suite bathrooms. The guesthouse is furnished with a mixture of modern facilities, and Karoo antiques.

Guest can relax in the communal lounge with a warm fireplace for the cold winter nights. Enjoy a selection of traditional Karoo meals on request at the guest house or at one of the local restaurants. There are braai facilities on-site, as well as secure parking.

What a nice place! It's beautifully decorated. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Pieter and the staff are friendly and helpful.

Great Host by

Pieter was a very attentive host.  The guesthouse is lovely with lots of beautiful things.  Lovely breakfast too.

Tasteful decor and wonderful collection of antique furniture. Very comfortable and spacious room. Marvellous breakfast!

The food Dinner at Lord's Kitchen and breakfast at the officer's messs was grrat by

Griet, die juweel, wat ons so vriendelik ontvang en behandel het, was 'n 'hit'. Baie dankie. Persoonlike aandag deur Pieter was ook baie lekker. Ons het heerlik gekuier, baie dankie. Een opmerking: sal volgende keer vir kamer vra aan voorkant van gastehuis. Was bietjie gehinder deur mense wat oorkant die straat woon.

Security and comfort by

We enjoyed our stay. Pieter was a gracious and extremely helpful host, going out of his way to assist us with a tyre problem as well. We found his staff to be courteous and efficient. The meals at the Lord's Kitchen were excellent. We will and have already been back.

Restoration of the original buildings by

Privacy for the bathroom (like a sliding door) could be improved. However it was a good experience
