The family suite, situated on the first floor, consists of two bedrooms and two bathrooms with doors leading to a balcony with unsurpassed Marina views, the perfect place for guests to enjoy their morning coffee or sun downers.
The first bedroom has a king size bed, ceiling fan, bar fridge and a hairdryer. The en-suite bathroom is fitted with a toilet, a basin and a spacious shower. There are coffee and tea making facilities that serve both bedrooms.
The second ? smaller - bedroom has two single beds, a ceiling fan and a hairdryer. The private bathroom across the passage has a toilet, a basin and a shower above the bath.
The suite is ideal for a family or a group of maximum four people. However, it is also perfectly suited for two people travelling together who prefer separate bedrooms and bathrooms.
Guests have access to various indoor and outdoor living areas, including the kitchen and TV lounge. Most sports, news and movies channels are available. There is no TV in the bedrooms, but free WiFi enables guests to watch their preferred programs or news channels on their laptop or smart phone at any given time.
Marina Magic does not offer any meals, but a number of quaint coffee shops and cosy restaurants are nearby and serve hearty breakfasts, delicious lunches and excellent dinners at reasonable prices. Of course, guests are also welcome to make use of our kitchen facilities whenever they like.
Children are welcome, but as you can see, our home is situated on the Marina, and small children need to be watched at all times when playing in the outside areas along the canals. The staircase in the living area is also not ideal for infants, but with constant supervision by the parents, it does not have to be a problem.
The Marina complex offers the use of a swimming pool and tennis court at no charge. For a small fee, guests can make use of a squash court and a large heated indoor pool that are situated just outside the complex. A twenty minutes' walk will get you to the Eastern Beach where you can stroll for hours along beautiful, unspoiled beaches, or alternatively, catch a tan whilst watching the surfers catching a wave? A short drive will take you to some other stunning beaches in Port Alfred and more beaches are to be found along the Sunshine Coast.
The owners Liz & Kevin live on the premises most of the time and are happy to socialize. However, if guests prefer to be left to your own devices, they will gladly give them the opportunity and space to do so.
Liz, who is from The Netherlands, speaks Dutch, English and Afrikaans. Her understanding of German is fair. Kevin is born and bred in the Eastern Cape and speaks English and Afrikaans, has a good understanding of the Dutch language and is very knowledgeable about the history of this area and other parts of South Africa.
Port Alfred and surroundings offer various attractions and recreational activities including river cruising, canoeing, surfing, fishing, horse riding and golf. Visiting the neighbouring towns is also a delightful experience, one of which is the historical village of Bathurst with the famous Pig & Whistle pub, the oldest licensed pub in South Africa. The Great Fish Point Lighthouse may also be worth a visit.
A drive of an hour and a half will take you to the famous ADDO Elephant Park, which hosts the BIG FIVE. There are also various smaller game reserves in the area.
Situated between Port Elizabeth and East London, Port Alfred is easy accessible and is about an hour and a half's drive from either airport - about 150 km either way.
If you enjoy the tranquillity of the water side, then Marina Magic may be the perfect place for you to relax and reconnect.
