McGregor Jeugherberg

McGregor Backpackers is situated in the center of McGregor which itself it situated in the heart of the Langeberg Mountains and wine region.

We offer affordable rates, excellent home from home facilities, and are within walking distance of all the places of interest in McGregor. We have a fully equipped kitchen, a comfy dining room, a lounge with full DSTV and fast free internet. We supply all linen and towels. We also have a small pub but as we are unlicensed, guests are more then welcome to bring their own and ice is free. The braai facilities are created for making new friends, there is a small charge for wood.

The Backpackers is also the home base for many people doing the popular Boesmanskloof hike from Greyton to McGregor. We offer a pick up service from the trails end, delivery back the next day and a free shopping service so you don't have to carry more than a snack and some water. Once you have given us your shopping list, you only pay for what is reflected on the till slip.

There are many wonderful mountain bike trails, some are gnarly and some are just for cruising. We are negotiating with local farmers who are creating wonderful single tracks on their farms but only riders accompanied by a local rider will have access and Geoff will take you on some awesome rides.

There are walks in the krantz, some will make you breathless and others will leave you wanting more. If it is a hot day then a swim in the lei-water dam in just the thing to cool you down.

McGregor features many festivals in the course of the year and many folk make the Backpackers their springboard for these occasions.

We do not allow smoking in any of the rooms but there is a designated area outside with a place to put your ciggie butts.

We are pet friendly providing the dogs are social and don't want to sleep on our beds. One pet per family please.
