Situated on a farm, 1.3km outside of Sutherland, guests will find the Middelfontein Farm which offers three self-catering units.

Fontein House is a two bedroom (one and half bathroom) self catering unit. Indoor and outdoor fireplace. Lounge with 40" TV with select DSTV.

Guests can choose to stay comfortable cottage called Fonteintjie (open plan bedroom - sleep 4). Indoor & outdoor fireplace.

Fontein & Fonteintjie has electricity.


Saffraan cottage is a romantic stone cottage with gas appliances only. (No electricity)
Saffraan has a double bed - so best suited for single/a couple.

Baie lekker by

Ons het baie baie lekker gekuier, als was in plek - hoogte punt was die wonderlike dak in die hoof slaapkamer en het skoon vergeet om te slaap het heelnag na die melkweg en sterre gkyk. Alles baie baie netjies en die ontbyt was heerlik met die vriendelikste dames wat ons bedien het. Baie dankie wens ons kon langer bly maar ons kom weer.

Thank you Jurg - our stay at Middelfontein B&B was really fantastic! We enjoyed a fire on the stoep in the evening - and in the morning we were greeted by the sheep, and an owl! Growing up on a farm, I really appreciated the entire experience. And it was my mother-in-law's first time in Sutherland - which she loved. Friendly people, good food, great open sky. Thank you, again. From all us Joubert's.

Pragtige plek, baie rustig en idiaal om vakansie te hou. Die staproetes is goed uitgele en gemerk en die plantnommer met handleiding is uiters interessant en leersaam..

Lekker warm en gasvry by

Vriendelike mense en goeie ervaring, sal weer kom

Die natuur Ons het ook Vaal Ribbokke gesien wei by die huis by

Die fasiliteite was voldoende. Sal weer daar gaan oorbly sodra ek weer Sutherland besoek. Lekker staproets.

Peace and quiet by

Wonderful weekend spent at Fonteintjie on Middelfontein Farm. We did three hiking trails through the mountains on the farm. (Route map provided by Juanita) The cottage was comfortable, warm (fire place inside and outside) and the breakfasts at the Guest House in town were delicious. We were delighted with Juanita's enthusiasm and obvious passion for her little town and what it has to offer. We will be back
