Moreson Ranch

Moreson is a unique game and holiday ranch with panoramic views, situated at the foot of the Bothasberg in the Vrede district. Relax in the open surroundings before going on an adventure into the heart of the African grasslands of the North Eastern Free State.

The camp has three spacious Sandstone chalets with thatched roofs, accommodating eight guests in each. All the units are fully serviced and well equipped, meeting all modern standards with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a pool table, a TV and an indoor braai facility. We also have a smaller chalet sleeping four guests with an indoor braai and a fully equipped kitchen. The nine self-catering two-bed units are fully equipped with a small kitchen and a TV. The chalets and units are serviced daily. The 30 campsites are sheltered by shady trees and overlook the open plains where the game roam freely. Some of the campsites have their own bathrooms.

Enjoy a sundowner and a superb steak in the Lion's Den Pub and Grill restaurant, overlooking the lions. The pub and sports bar has a rustic atmosphere, and the lion cubs will join you for a game of catch in the evening. We offer a swimming pool outside, a hydro indoor heated swimming pool, a Jacuzzi and a sauna.

Experience the rugged out-crops of natural rock, wide open spaces, green pastures and freedom only Africa can offer. Guests can enjoy hiking trails, bird watching, rock paintings, 4x4 adventures, fishing, clay pigeon shooting and hunting. Game and night drives are offered on request. The blesbok herd at Moreson is one of the biggest in the Free State with an average of a 1000 buck. You can also visit the lion camp and play with the cubs, and look at the white lions and tigers.
