Mushashani BoskampMusina, Limpopo, South Africa Zelf-Zichricht | (POA) |
Mushashani Boskamp is located on a 3100-hectare game farm. It is roughly 10 km south of Musina in Limpopo, next to the N1 bourdering on the Musina Nature Reserve, on either side of the Sand River where the Sand River Gneiss rock, lies beautifully exposed. It offers self-catering accommodation for a family or group of friends and is ideally suited for nature lovers and those wanting to get out of the city.
Please note that there is a 6 km gravel road leading into the farm after turning off the N1. Vehicles with a relative high ground clearance or SUV's are recommended to reach the camp, but normal cars or buses that aren't too low shouldn't have a problem getting to the camp. Even though 4x4's aren't necessary to reach the camp or traverse the farm, there are places on the farm that would be better explored with an SUV or 4x4 like through the Sand River itself.
The camp comprises three air-conditioned rondavels with two single beds in each, and a sunroom with five single beds and a ceiling fan. Sleeping 11 in total and is booked as an unit. There are two bathrooms, one of which has a shower, toilet and basin and the second with a bath, toilet and basin. There is also an outdoor shower with a basin.
Linen is supplied but guests are required to bring their own bath and swimming towels.
The kitchen is equipped with a stove, two fridges and a 210-liter chest freezer, kettle with all crockery and cutlery for self-catering.
The camp also offers a braai area in front of the kitchen, with built-in seating around the fireplace and under a thatched roof. It has all the basic necessities like electricity and hot water. Guests can bring their own camping chairs. Wood is for sale or bring your own.
Please note that there's no TV.
The farm dam also serves as a swimming dam and is located about 50 meters from the camp. It has a rock deck and built-in seating. Walking and cycling are also possible on a variety of farm roads. There are beautiful views of the area from various hills and rocky outcrops.
Mushashani is a Venda word that loosely translates to the word for a temporary shelter for hunters while hunting.
Musina town also has a few restaurants, shops and shopping mall. Messina Golf Club boasts an unique and very nice golf course with reasonable rates for visitors. Mapungubwe, Kruger Park, Tshipise and other places in the Soutpansberg region can easily be visited on a day trip.
