Old Cape is a newly founded guesthouse in the Overberg region. It is three luxury self-catering apartments named after the shipwrecks of Struisbaai. The self-catering units are huddled closely together to create a feeling of togetherness and community between our visitors. Old Cape has the slogan Last Trading Post to portray the unique history of The Cape.
Old Cape is decorated with historical photos of shipwrecks, town plans of earlier years and artefacts known to the heritage of The Cape. The living units are decorated with handmade art that serves as an in-house art gallery and perfectly blends in with the feeling of Struisbaai and its history. Each unit has its private braai and entertainment area.
When residing at Old Cape, visitors have access to the Cape Agulhas Lighthouse where they can experience a view of L'Agulhas from the tower and visit the museum to learn more about the history of the lighthouse itself. From the lighthouse, the boardwalk or dirt road takes you about 1 kilometre to the Southern Most Tip of Africa.
The town of Struisbaai also offers activities like Fishing Charters where visitors can get a first-hand experience of the sea and the work that goes into fishing. Visitors can visit the Struisbaai harbour to get a look into the life of the fishermen and the system of the industry while enjoying meals and local drinks at the harbour restaurant, Pelicans.
Morning Glory Beach Rides offers fun for the whole family with horse rides along the beautiful beaches.
