The beautiful coastal village of Mthunzini is a declared conservancy and home to the Raphia Palm Monument. A navigable lagoon winds through the mouth onto the unspoilt beach.

One-on-Hely offers the utmost in comfort and modern amenities and is ideally situated close to the entrance to this tranquil seaside village. It commands breathtaking views of the beautiful natural surroundings, and all six bedrooms open onto enormous private balconies where guests can gaze across a magnificent expanse of evergreen coastal forest fringing the warm Indian Ocean. All rooms feature stylish en-suite bathrooms, extra-length king-size beds, air-conditioning, ceiling fan, DStv, bar fridges, tea and coffee trays, hairdryers, work desks, Wi-Fi and an in-room safes. Swimming towels are provided and laundry can be done on request. A scrumptious breakfast is served in the contemporary dining room or out on the naturally weathered balau pool deck.

One-on-Hely is situated 130 km north of Durban, en route to the Hluhluwe-Umfolozi Game Reserve and iSimangaliso Wetland Park, making this an ideal stopover for business people, leisure travellers, nature lovers and birders. Several popular restaurants are also within walking distance.

Outstanding service by

It was while we were staying at One on Hely that we discovered, to our immense distress, that we had lost our passports. Ann and Megan went far further than the extra mile to help us, searching our room and luggage and making helpful suggestions. On our last day we were allowed to stay well beyond checkout time in order to complete the lengthy paperwork tasks required in order to replace our travel documents. Megan patiently made phone calls, printed out forms and photocopied documents for us and even undertook to pass the package on to the courier so that we could continue our holiday. I cannot praise her highly enough. The loss of the passports took the edge off our holiday but we could not have been better looked after. The room, the pool and the view were also wonderful and it was one of the best breakfasts I have ever had too! Many, many thanks to you both. We will be back ( but this time with our passports in a safe place). Don't miss a chance to stay here.

The place has been done up extremely well..with so much attention to detail. The rooms are big and have lovely modern finishes. It's neat and very quiet. The owner and staff are amazingly pleasant. We really enjoyed our stay.

Superfriendly owner, very nice breakfast and beautiful surroundings. Our room was very spacious and clean, just as the bath room. Very much recommended!
