Phumula by the Sea is an upmarket B&B in Desainagar, near Ballito on the North Coast. We are a walking distance away from fishing grounds across the road on the Dolphin Coast. Westbrook/ Tongaat Beach is a approx.,3 Km to the North and Umhloti beach is approx.,7 Km to the South from us, Both beaches has Life Savers,

We have two spacious Bedrooms with King size beds and en-suite bathrooms, and one Bedroom with twin beds and en-suite bathrooms. Two rooms have sea views and all three are fitted with air-conditioning, TVs with DStv and safes.

We have as a sparkling swimming pool and private garden. There is a full breakfast with cereals and yogurt served every morning, and we are able to arrange self-catering with the arrangement of kitchen times. On request we are able to provide washing and ironing. We will provide an airport shuttle on request.

Fantastic by

Nos hospedamos aqui porque estaba cerca del aeropuerto de Durban y nos llevamos una grata sorpresa. Las habitaciones estaban impecables, todo muy limpio y con camas comodas. Como solo estuvimos una noche no pudimos aprovechar la barbacoa y la piscina. Aprovechamos para visitar Durban, a una media hora en coche, y al día siguiente nos sirvieron un desayuno que ya quisieran para si muchos hoteles. La dueña, Gerda Kleynhans, es un encanto de mujer, simpatica, amable y muy atenta. Nos lavaron el coche por dentro y por fuera por muy poco dinero. Volvería sin dudarlo We stayed here because it was near the airport in Durban and we got a nice surprise. The rooms were spotless, all very clean and comfortable beds. As we only stayed one night we could not use the barbecue and pool. Took this opportunity to visit Durban, a half hour drive, and the next day we were served a breakfast that matched many hotels. The owner, Gerda Kleynhans, is a charming woman, sympathetic, friendly and very attentive. They washed the car inside and out for very little money. Would definitely return!

Economical, safe, quiet by

Exploring South Africa. Location close to city and airport. Pool outside room. Ocean view. Enclosed parking. Owners very friendly and helpful.

not happy by

the place in a bad state of repair - rusted; dirty; etc. this place needs a major revamp of facilities and clean up. dust everywhere rusted and broken ornaments / displays. deep freeze dirty inside, etc. owner pleasant enough.

Located close to airport and shopping centers by

Gerda was very welcoming and hospitable. The building could do with a little TLC, but otherwise a lovely stay.
