PONTA DO OURO - BEACHFRONT HOUSE RECENSIES (63 %) Brilliant by Fiona Elbourne, South Africa 27 October 2014 We had an awesome stay and we will definitely be going back early next year! Not Maintained by Toni Shortt, South Africa 04 April 2016 The house has not been maintained properly - it looks beaten and run down. The fridge was not in proper working order.
The cleaning staff were great and the managers were helpful.
Decent accommodation by Irfaan Chavoos, South Africa 29 November 2016 On arrival at Paraiso Do Ouro Resort, We were greeted by a friendly lady who helped us get settled. The cleaning staff and resort staff were friendly and willing to assist. They had even assisted us to take our luggage into the unit and were full of smiles. Pros: 1. Right on the beach with beautiful views 2. Friendly staff willing to assist 3. Good location to Ponta Town 4. Bathroom and kitchen had hot water 5. Electricity was good with no power dips etc 6. Outside shower available for use after a beach day 7. New fridge which works well Cons: 1.Either alot of roaches or rats running around (which you can hear throughout the wooden walls in the house) 2.Old linen which was a bit worn out Only 1 aircon in the 2nd bedroom worked throughout the house 3.Bathroom needs serious maintenance, the shower floor is cracked and looks dirty (We ended up buying Cleaning detergent and a brush at the local store so that we could scrub the shower and basin before use) 4. The wooden decks were recently painted, however, every time you step on the deck and walk back into the house there is black residue which is collected under your feet/shoes. 5. The taps in the kitchen sometimes let out a stench 6. The toilet at the main entrance needs a renovation 7. Cutlery and crockery need to be replaced. Pots and cooking utensils were quite stained. Kettle needs to be replaced 8. No specified braai area, although there was a braai stand at the next house 9. Maintenance staff, drilling, knocking and grinding from early parts of the morning till late afternoon. While the place is decent to stay in, and liveable, it does seem to have been neglected and needs some serious improvement. The hous itself is good, its the small things that need attention, like the crockery, cutlery, bedding and most definitely the bathroom. The bathroom really needs a complete revamp from top to bottom. It is also advisable that cleaning material like detergents, scrubbing brushes etc is left in the house so that it doesn't become an extra expense. We could have went back and forth to the cleaning staff but that would be quite irritating getting it up to scratch. This place is perfect if you just feel the need for a place to sleep and shower. If all the smaller things as mentioned above is taken care of, it would be a good place to stay and relax in. Being divers we were out of the house majority of the time and only spent time in the house during the evening Best thing we did was find other accommodation! by Sharron Brown 07 September 2017 Toilet brush broken in half downstairs
No toilet brush upstairs
Second bedroom smells like rat and bat wee
Rats been heard along flooring, the cupboards smell like rat pee
DVD'S that we brought!!!!! Dvd Player doesn't exist
The lounge furniture has seen better decades
Fitted sheets are too small for the beds & creep being the quality it is.!
Kitchen is decent but not equipped fully
Braai???? Disgusting.
Basin ,bath & shower floor all cracked.
Wooden home #6 needs TLC (treatment of wood exterior)
Others homes in the complex look really good compared.
Windows don't stay open. The. Bath room
Bathroom Mat looks 10 years old and stained
Granite around sink cracked and falling to another level.
No cleaning cloths, even thought we brought our own cleaning liquids
Staff doesn't come in every second day even
All around the houses is debris from fixing houses.
The floors outside are stained with puddles of old paint, it's like living in a building site but number six hasn't been touched. We booked into the unit, but couldn't put up with the stink or the low standards of everything, and left after three nights. Luckily we found similarly priced accommodation through Gobundu at Golden Beach Village villa five.
I have emailed the owner of the villa, she said a week ago she "would revert soonest". Even the staff at Paradiso said a lot of people
Complain........... so we hope that you can sort this in some way?
Really disappointed, I've never had to find other accom
And move.... suppose u can't win them all.
Thanks
Sharron brown
0828307291 Great Place !!! by Lecia Pretorius 02 May 2018 It is a very nice place just need a few upgrades, like better seating in living room and more kitchen utensils, but take your own and you are sorted. Very nice view and staff is really friendly. Very little by Dorothy Loob 11 May 2018 We found sleeping on the same sheets and pillowcases for two weeks was a bit much. The pool is also not 20 meters away because the side gates are locked. No comfortable chairs for relaxing on the balconies. a lot of fixing is needed as the windows don't even stay open they just fall closed on their own and the kitchen tap is faulty. The lounge furniture is really disgusting to relax on. There was no DVD player as mentioned but we had to pay to use it which was not included in our booking. We have stayed in many places throughout the world and your tariff with the above problems is much to high. Thanks for the breakfasts which were great. PONTA DO OURO - BEACHFRONT HOUSE LOCATIE
