Pumula is a family owned rustic and lived-in mountain log-house with a thatched roof, and is nestled at the foothills of the Central Drakensberg near Champagne Castle Hotel. It is within the World Heritage Site, where there is the combination of sheer natural beauty and wealth of biological diversity and has magnificent views of the Drakensberg, Cathkin Peak, Sterkhorn and Champagne Castle in the background.This log-house offers three bedrooms with single beds in each and one with a baby's cot, two bathrooms and can sleep a maximum of six adults and one toddler. There is a fully equipped kitchen for self-catering, a large living room with a fireplace (no TV) and a braai area outside. Blankets and pillows are provided, but guests are required to BRING THEIR OWN LINEN AND TOWELS. Check in after 14h00 and check out by 10h00. The area offers many hiking trails in the age-old indigenous forest that is dotted with streams, waterfalls and pools. Other trails are on the grassy plains where panoramic views of the mountains are displayed. In the nearby vicinity (5 - 10 minutes drive) there is a championship golf course at Champagne sports resort, birds of prey demonstrations at Falcon ridge, concerts at the world renowned Drakensberg Boys Choir school as well as quad biking, tree canopy tours, river rafting, micro light flights and a number of shops in the area selling clothing, health products, curios, art and crafts, jewellery and more.
