Rafiki's Kruger Retreat

Rafiki's Resthouse is a lovely self-catering house in Marloth Park, on the edge of the famous Kruger National Park. This house is close to Gate 2 and just a two-minute walk from the Crocodile River, which forms the southern boundary of the Game Reserve - watch out for elephants, rhinos, lions and other animals that come to drink at the river. Marloth Park has a supermarket and a hardware store, trinket shop, liquor store, gas station, restaurants and other amenities.

Rafiki's Resthouse sleeps nine guests and contains four bedrooms (all with air conditioning and ceiling fan), three bathrooms, a living room on the lower floor, a TV room on the upper floor (fan), a fully equipped kitchen and a dining area. Outside there are two spacious, covered terraces, a swimming pool, rock pool and a large, beautiful garden with impressive trees. Privacy is ensured. In the evenings you can sit blissfully on the porch and listen to the roar of lions and the snoring of hippos, and in the morning and day the elephant's trumpeter announces the beginning of the new day. This place is made for nature lovers!

Wildlife walks around Marloth Park and many animals and birds visit the garden. Look out for zebras, kudu, wildebeest, baboons, monkeys, warthogs and more. If you keep the water in the garden fresh, you will be rewarded with extra visits by these beautiful animals. This semi-tropical setting is a birdwatching lover's paradise.

Our priority is respect for the animals and their environment. That is why we do not want to invite groups here that only want to party, waste and make noise. We are strict about the number of guests booking. Children are allowed, but only under parental supervision (no fishing in the garden pond, proper behaviour towards animals, respect for everything in and around the house).

The nearest entrance gate to the Kruger National Park is only a 12-minute drive from Rafiki's, so guests who have the Big 5 in their sights can take day trips to this world-renowned reserve. Swaziland, Mozambique and the Panorama Route should also definitely be on your day trip list.
