Get away from your hectic lifestyle and relax at Reeds River Lodge. Let the sound of the clear running Skeerpoort River, the majestic sight of the Magalies Mountains and the music of nature calm you.We are situated close to the wedding venues on the western side of the Hartbeespoort Dam, making it ideal for wedding guests that do not want to drive home after the wedding.We have five open-plan self catering units on the banks of the Skeerpoort River. These chalets are well equipped to make your stay memorable and comfortable.We also have a three-bedroom family unit, which has two private bedrooms, each with a queen size bed, a loft with two single beds, an open-plan living area, big kitchen and shower bathroom. Our latest additions are the four-sleeper and eight-sleeper units, as well as a big lapa and a 2nd swimming pool. The lapa is ideal for birthday parties and work functions (up to 50 people). At this moment the lapa facility is only open for guests that are booked in for sleep-overs.You're welcome to pack your fishing rod and hiking boots, or take a dip in our sparkling swimming pools.Lots of scenery and activities in the area, i.e. cableway, golf courses, horse riding, boat trips, hot air ballooning, spa treatments, animal- and snake parks, flee market bargains.

We booked in to the family cottage for two nights recently. On arrival we were surprised to find the accommodation and the grounds far exceeded our expectations! The website does not show the extent of the beautiful setting, that all the cottages run along the river, that there is a boma down at the river where you can braai and have a bon fire. The gardens spread along the river with a paved path ideal for young children and their infamous "black bikes"! Our cottage was large and comfortable. It had a large cool patio with a braai and bon fire area. The kitchen was only basically equipped with no microwave and the fridge made a terrible noise but could be switched off at the mains. the rooms had adequate beds and linen, towels were a bit worn, but everything was clean The high thatch roof and cement floors make it cool downstairs. The only downfall was that the windows could not be left open at night as they were large enough to climb through which made the whole house hot and clammy, specially the upstairs room. We had to ask for an extra fan to try cool the place. The owners said they would look into this problem. Security in the area is apparently a bit of a problem so care should be taken to lock up at night and when you leave. All in all - a lovely spot.

The reception was great, rooms were neat and tidy and the location was beautiful and well maintained. The only challenge was one shower for 8 girls but we coped and overall tremendously enjoyed our stay and will definitely be staying there again.

Loved the bedding and master bedroom , cupboard space, large shower and bath in unit 7.

something to take note of by

The Reeds River Lodge has a beautiful and peaceful location, the 8 sleeper unit itself is very spacious with everything you need. the unit seemed clean in all the visible areas when we arrived however once we started getting settled it was very disappointing to the unit was filthy in all the places not visible, the bathrooms were also terribly dirty. This was very sad as everything else about this place was great.
