Seasons Loge Zanzibar

Seasons Lodge is a family run hotel situated in Pongwe on the east coast of Zanzibar, just under one hour's drive from the airport and Stone Town. At Seasons Lodge we want to provide accommodation that has a low carbon footprint, while at the same time ensuring quality of service and excellent facilities.

We have two types of rooms at Seasons Lodge, both boasting breathtaking views of the Indian Ocean. There are seven individual cottages and three second floor rooms in the main block. The bathrooms have have claw-foot cast iron baths and his-and-hers hand basins. The rooms are designed to harness the Indian Ocean trade winds and are very open with folding louvered doors and windows to maximise the breeze that blows in off the ocean. All rooms also have multi-speed fans above the beds. Each cottage has its own walled tropical garden that is accessed through an antique Zanzibar-style door set in a white coral stone wall. At the front of the cottages are large balconies with comfy coconut wood furniture and steps down to your own beach area.

Our restaurant offers a range of seafood caught locally. The dining room is stylishly decorated and our top chefs take the best from the sea and combine it with the best spices from the island to create a culinary treat. There is a flat screen TV in the ?Bar es Salaam' which will show all popular sporting channels and others on request. The bar, restaurant, and reception area in the main block has a wireless Internet connection.

There are many things to do at Seasons Lodge apart from relaxing on the beach or on your veranda with a good book. We have mountain bikes that are available for exploring local villages and kayaks to explore the coastline and marine life. A boat, with snorkelling equipment, can take you out to the reef to explore the underwater life off shore. Diving can be arranged to explore the spectacular coral reefs around the island. We can also organise many other tours of the island or the mainland of Tanzania.
