Craig and Lesley Hunt welcome you to the peaceful setting of Southern Comfort, a lodge situated on seven hectares of pristine land overlooking a small lake with abundant bird life, only seven minutes away from the centre of Bulawayo.Southern Comfort Lodge consists of six twin en-suite rooms with tea and coffee facilities (sorry no Self Catered Chalets available), TVs, fans, daily housekeeping and on site Management. All the rooms are tastefully decorated in an ethnic design and overlook a small lake with an abundance of bird life, set round established and beatifully manicured gardens.In the evening you can enjoy a drink with the owners in the Lodge Bar before moving onto dinner (A'La Carte Evening Menu for convenience of guests) served by our competent and friendly staff. After a good night's sleep, a full English breakfast awaits you to start the day.Southern Comfort Lodge is ideally located and easily accessible. We only had one night in Bulawayo and had NO IDEA what to expect on arrival at the lodge. We arrived with a very sick 3 year old, and were heading into the bush the next day. Lesley, the owner, could not have been more helpful in sorting us out with an excellent Dr in town. They were very friendly, welcoming and interesting. We enjoyed a few drinks at the bar with them, and were served a delicious dinner (she asked WHAT we would like cooked for the kids), as well as a good breakfast. We would definitely stay there again, and highly recommend it to anyone passing through Bulawayo OR wanting to stay a couple of days there (the lodge is on a spacious property - you don't feel like you are in a town!)

Lovely setting  in well maintained shady gardens.The accommodation is clean and offers everything a traveller wishes for. And the staff(reception lady) and management  were friendly and helpful. I can recommend to anybody who wants to break a long journey through Zim.

Lovely garden birding by

Very nice camping spots but the ablutions were in a very poor state and not clean.
