Bad experience by Gerhard Maree 13 July 2017 We did not have any water since we arrived there at 17:00 the afternoon until we left the next morning, earlier than planned, just to get out of there. As did other two groups of guests. Bringing it to the attention of the person in charge was no use as I was just told that the water was frozen. No attempt was made to make some kind of plan. Only the next morning did the lady fetched water from the river in a bucket, but by that time we were already on our way. Surely an establishment should know that water in pipes (that was just laid on top of the ground), would freeze when it is that cold and compensate with alternative arrangements? The half a bucket of coal that we were given long after we arrived did nothing for the cold and if I did not bring the blitz and a large bag of wood with from home, we surely would have frozen to death during the night! Then to top it all off, we could not have breakfast as the excuse was that there was no water and the the gas was frozen. Please tell me how gas in bottles can freeze? There was no-one in the kitchen and I suspect the chef was not around yet due to the cold, so conveniently the cold was the excuse. I will never stay there again and will advise anybody that goes to Lesotho, to give the place a miss. We have stayed at St. James Lodge many times before and that is why I thought Stone Lodge would be the same. I was wrong!!! One can understand that there are extreme weather circumstances that can influence how things work, but then compensate for this if you want to advertise as a place where travelers can go to shelter during these weather circumstances. All in all a bad experience!! The friendliness and efficiency of the staff by Paul Fouche 02 September 2017 Over and above the excellent staff the food was affordable and good. The fireplace in the room and the fact that it was serviced by the staff made our stay very pleasant.
The hot water system for the shower does however need attention in this cold environment SANI STONE LOGE LOCATIE
