Nothing to improve in my opinion, everything was perfect. After a pleasant golf round in Paarl we also fancied the refreshing pool.

Our aim was to spend the Saturday at Bastille Festival and St. Croix provided the much needed peace after a busy day of attending Bastille Fest. The drive was short enough to get to-and from the main town.
Although, upon checkout at 11am, we had someone stand on top of us waiting for the 11am prompt checkout, which made us feel a bit unwelcomed Swimming pool by Mark De Villiers 28 October 2018 Nice and quiet everything clean and in working order Disgusting attitude of owner by Anndrea Bezuidenhout 29 October 2018 We had booked our trip in advance and were really looking forward to our stay as we never get the chance to get out of the city. We phoned a day before to confirm if we could arrive earlier and the manager Jenny with whom we had been dealing with was very helpful and told us that would be fine and if we needed anything else we can just call her on the number she provided. The day of our arrival, we were running late so phoned ahead to let them know. A male answered the phone so my wife asked for the manager who we had been dealing with. The man that answered the phone said that she is not here at the moment and wanted to know how we got this number but he will pass on a message to her!
We arrived and settled into our cottage and had unpacked all our goods and clothes. We then came across towels that were stained and dirty. So we phoned the number that was provided in the booklet to ask for clean ones. The owner answered the phone, so I asked to speak to the manager with whom we had been dealing with. He said that the offices are not open on the weekend and can we phone back on Monday. So I told him that we are guests staying at his cottages and asked him if we can please get some clean towels as the ones that are in the room are dirty. He said "Fine! he will come and look" He seemed very disgruntled.
On his arrival at the cottage I opened the door to give him the dirty towels and he just let himself in. This to me is rude and invasive!! As I was showing him the towels he grabbed them out of my hand as I was in mid sentence and left. He came back a couple of minutes later and asked me to check the towels to see if they were clean! At that stage I said to him that I didn't like his attitude and the way he was treating us. His response was that he doesn't like people who complain and he said that he did us a favour by letting us stay one night at his accommodation. He then also blamed his staff and said it is their fault that the towels were dirty. He then proceeded to to tell us that we must leave and he will give us a full refund. I understand that these are just towels but it is unhygienic to give your guests dirty towels
I am in hospitality myself and I have NEVER come across a person who claims that he has worked in hospitality for 24 years, who can be so rude and condescending. I am absolutely DISGUSTED and APPALLED at the way we were treated and how things were handled. All of this could have been avoided if towels were just replaced!! We were there for an hour and believe me when I say we will NOT BE COMING BACK. Evan Albertyn, you are a rude and disgruntled man who should not be in the industry that you are in!! No one deserves to be treated the way you treated not only me but my family as well. I will not be rating your establishment. YOU DO NOT DESERVE TO BE THE OWNER of your 4 star establishment!!!!!!!
