Suikerbossie @ Riebeek-Kasteel is situated in the stunning Swartland wine district of the Western Cape, Suikerbossie is a gorgeous newly-renovated four-bedroomed house accommodating up to eight people in the heart of Riebeek-Kasteel. This delightful area is known for its olives and famous wine farms.
Suikerbossie is centrally located on the corner of Skool and Van Riebeeck Streets. The house is a mere stone's throw from world-class restaurants, pubs, shops and the renowned wine and olive boutiques of this unspoilt and charming village. Well-known Kloovenburg and Allesverloren are a scenic five minutes' drive away and offer wine tastings and sales of their signature vintage wines.
The accommodation at Suikerbossie is luxurious and has been designed with your every comfort in mind. Quirky Cape decorator, Salomé Gunter, was given carte blanche to design Suikerbossie's beautiful interior and she did it with her usual style.
The house can accommodate up to eight guests. Each uniquely decorated bedroom invites you to snuggle up with 200 thread count designer linen, and has its own en-suite bathroom. Bedroom one has a double bed and Victorian bath, bedroom two with two single beds and shower, bedroom three with a double bed and shower and bedroom four with a double bed, bath and shower.
All the bedrooms and the living room open out on to an old-fashioned stoep - ideal for chilling out on hot days. For maximum comfort during the long, hot summer, each bedroom has a colonial paddle fan above the bed. Or chill out by having a dip in our cool splash pool and enjoy the shady stoep.
In winter you'll remain cosy and snug, as each en-suite bathroom has underfloor heating. The central fireplace in the lounge keeps the whole house warm and toasty. Suikerbossie boasts a fully-equipped, modern kitchen, including a gorgeous lime green Smeg fridge, stainless steel kitchen surfaces, and with all the necessary crockery, cutlery, pots, pans and utensils for self-catering.
The comfortable sitting room with a colonial paddle fan and dining room with a lovely traditional dining table are open plan to the kitchen and create the ideal environment for total relaxation. Another fabulous chill-out area, with a wooden dining table and seating for eight people, is situated under the cool pergola near the pool.
The wrap-around farm stoep is reminiscent of the 1920's and is the perfect spot to watch village life go by, it goes without saying that you'll be sipping a glass of local Shiraz and nibbling on an olive or two while you do this. With its built-in bench with comfy cushions, chairs and table, the stoep is ideal for al fresco meals and, of course, South Africa's favourite entertainment, a traditional braai.
The nearest beach, Yzerfontein, is 45 minutes away by car. Langebaan, Stellenbosch, and Franschhoek with all their attractions, are conveniently close. Please note we do not accept any pets.
