TerracottaSouthbroom, KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa Zelf-Zichricht | (POA) |
Set in Southbroom on the Lower South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, Terracotta lies within walking distance of the Indian Ocean. It has two spacious apartments, both beautifully furnished and well equipped.
Treetops sleeps four adults and the Garden suite sleeps two. Both units lead into a park-like garden with grass galore and its own private mini trails. There is a wild-flower meadow, trees aplenty and amazing birds and animals.
The night camera has picked up nine mammals: grey and blue duiker, bushbuck, bushpig, African wild cat, large-spotted genet, white-tailed mongoose, water mongoose and porcupine. And plenty of monkeys during the day. The bird-list easily exceeds 100 in the garden alone.
The garden descends directly into the Bushbuck Trail, a lovely forest walk well maintained by the Southbroom Conservancy. Instead of taking the trail, turn left through the tennis courts and enjoy a short stroll through the golf course to the quiet beach at Sea Village. Southbroom offers a relaxed lifestyle for residents and holidaymakers of all ages.
The beaches are pristine and magnificent: great for walking, surfing, swimming, sunbathing, rock-pools, lagoons etc. The warm ocean hosts dolphins, whales and stunning tropical fish. Southbroom itself boasts three thriving sports clubs: golf, tennis and bowls. The village has doctors' rooms, a vet, a dentist, a pharmacy, a deli, coffee shops, beauty parlours, restaurants and take-aways, a bottle store and a KwikSpar.
Other nearby facilities are Riverbend Crocodile Farm, horse-riding, mountain-biking, Segway trails, zip lines, deep-sea fishing, scuba diving and a number of nature reserves. Hosts Julie and Cleve Walker will introduce you to the wildlife, the walks and the ways of Southbroom. Golf clubs are available; bowling lessons on request. Anything you want booking, they will help.
