The Travelling Tortoise is situated just outside of De Rust overlooking the Middleplaas Valley. The off-the-grid eco-resort comprises of four mountain chalets, set in the most beautiful environment.
The chalets feature fully equipped kitchens, family-sized lounges and large decks with braai facilities. The property also offers guests a swimming pool and secure parking on the premises. There is a short hike on the premises where you will see a large variety of birds including many hawks, eagles, tortoise, hares, buck and many smaller mammals. We are mosquito-free and guaranteed no power outages.
This area has all-year-round sunshine. The summers can be very warm - the winters refreshingly cool. De Rust has many great attractions in and around the area, such as the Meiringspoort pass and waterfall, the Kammanassie Nature Reserve, the Cango Caves, and the Little Karoo Wine Route.
