The Cottages, located in the Klein Karoo, is the perfect base from which to explore the unique attractions of this area. We are situated in the Schoemanshoek Valley en route to the Cango Caves, the Swartberg Pass and the circle route to Prince Albert via Meiringspoort. It is also within easy reach of the Cango Ostrich Farm and Cango Wildlife Ranch. The foothills of the Swartberg is the backdrop of the panoramic view overlooking lush and green agricultural land.

Accommodation is offered in two 80-year-old cottages that have been tastefully renovated. Each cottage features two air-conditioned rooms, one with a double bed and the second with twin single beds. Both rooms contain an en-suite bathroom with a shower, basin and toilet, and each room also features a TV with M-Net and local channels. Bedding and bath towels are provided for guests' convenience.

The living room and kitchen area offers a fireplace and comfortable seating, while the kitchen is equipped with a small fridge, a microwave, two-plate stove, toaster and utensils. In addition, outside on the patio is a seating and braai area to relax after an exciting day.

We had an absolute amazing time staying at The Cottages. The people are very friendly and the layout of the cottage is just perfect with the most stunning view. We will definitely return. Thank you!

Very friendly staff. We enjoyed our stay. Cottages were simple but well equipped. Nice views.

The cottage is in such a perfect spot for the most amazing views of the mountains. The décor is really nice and has everything for self catering, the only downside we experienced was that it wasn't as clean as I expected. There were dead Mosquitoes on all the window sills and the windows were really dirty. The small stove was extremely dirty too, and there was candle wax on the table outside.

Appearance can be deceptive! by

The cottages look spectacular in the photos- very bright and colourful. The setting is beautiful and convenient for the caves and Oudtshoorn. However, it is no nice to stay there. There is only one comfy chair in the living area, so no chatting around the fireplace. There is a built in cement bench   in the corner- cold and too small to sit on. We had a barbecue and when I looked for a dish to put the meat in, I found the stuff in the cupboard to be absolutely putrid! Kitchen things were just thrown into the cupboards- rusty pans not fir for human use and the rest was filthy. The kitchen sink is in the corned- so deepset it is hard to reach. All the electrics are right there next to the water- very dangerous. There is nowhere to put your groceries. The cottages do not compare well to the lodge, which has 4 stars. There is clearly no overseeing of the maintenance of the cottages. We will not stay there again.
