The Stables Lodge Guest House offers panoramic views overlooking the mountains.

The Stables Lodge consists of four comfortable rooms with en-suite bathrooms, all equipped with air-conditioning-heating, coffee and tea-making facilities, hairdryer, radio CD players. One self-catering unit is also available.

Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and relax in a cosy common area. The lodge offers a secure parking area, free Fibre Wi-Fi, honesty bar with cool drinks and snacks available.

The Guest House is ideally located to explore the famous wine lands and a lot of other excursions and day trips. A beautiful atmosphere is created using a fusion of ITALIAN & African styles make this affordable stay one to be remembered and repeated.

We really enjoyed our stay in the 'Stables Lodge'. Beautyfull decorated and furnished. Delicious breakfast with a wonderfull view. The hosts were very friendly and gave us excellent hints for dinner in Cape Town. So we had two indescribable evenings at 'Madam Zingara' and 'Africa Cafe' in Cape Town, which we would not have had without it. Thank you very much for that, Alex.

This Lodge is in a perfect setting of a quiet neighbourhood and is extremely comfortable and luxurious. Ilaria is the perfect friendly hostess and made my stay exceptionally pleasant. Should I need to stay in Stellenbosch again....this would without a doubt be my choice.

Plenty could be improved as the decor was a bit shabby and off putting. Net curtain on the door was torn and the main curtains needed lining as the sun baked in the room early in the morning. Doors were scuffed and needed painting . First B and B we have stayed in which did not have a fridge and TV in the room. Communal fridge was tiny. Did not realize that breakfast was not included in our rate. After all we did book a bed and breakfast ! There was no crockery or cutlery provided in the room except for a kettle and mugs which made self catering a challenge .

thank you for your review.
With the present we wish to explain something so that for your next accommodation you will have some tips on how to choose the place depending on your specific needs.
First of all let us explain that being a Guest House or a B&B like us does not means we have to provide breakfast.
Our decision is something that Guests really appreciate as we do not charge them for breakfasts if Guests do not have breakfast!
Some people are not interested on it, or they must leave very early so we offer 2 options: room only (breakfast not included) or b&b (with breakfast included).
Some of the reservations we received arrived as room only but once Guests arrive they still have the opportunity to add breakfast simply paying the extra for it.
We trust this point is now clear.

Please note that you travel with your dog and is not easy to find places that are pet friendly as we are!

We are sorry that you did not appreciate the style of your room, we never received complain regarding it in that specific room, to give you an idea is the room's pic we use every year for our advertise on the official Stellenbosch book!

Regarding the net curtain it was already planned to remove it as it has been damaged, we did on the day of your check out when still we did not receive your review.
We never received complain regarding the main curtains in the Comfort Queen room but with pleasure we will monitored this.

On our web site and in most web sites we do provide the room's description. In your case below you will find the Comfort Queen 's room description:

- 1 Comfort Queen Room: 2 people sharing
One queen size bedroom with its own entrance, little relaxing area outside, air-con / heater, en suite shower / toilet, towel rail heater, tea and coffee facilities, radio CD player, safe-deposit box and hairdryer. Interior door with direct access to the common area.


Our tip is to better read the informations before making a reservation, unfortunately in your case having a dog it would be almost impossible to find another accommodation?

As you can see there is no Tv mentioned?as we never had any tv in the rooms. Being a 3 stars Guest House we do not have to, our choice is to provide a Tv with Dstv in the communal area.

As you can see there is no fridge mentioned. In some of our rooms we have it and for the rooms that does not have it there is a small fridge available at the communal area.

As you can see it only says coffee and tea making facilities?we provide a bit of cutlery in the communal area where the ?honesty bar' is but we supposed not to provide all the necessary for self catering.
We do have 1 self catering unit for Guests that wish to choose this kind of accommodation.
Unfortunately you did not ask for cutlery or simply to have dishes otherwise we could have had the opportunity to assist you.

We simply wish to suggest you to better read the informations and details regarding the place you are looking before making the reservation so that you will have a nice stay.
