Set in the heart of the vast and exclusive Northern Tuli Game Reserve in eastern Botswana, Tuli Wilderness Camp offers a wonderful natural location to awaken the explorer in you and to enjoy an authentic wilderness experience reminiscent of bygone Africa, complete with unspoilt landscapes and abundant wildlife.
The Northern Tuli Game Reserve boasts the world's largest elephant population on privately owned land, providing phenomenal elephant sightings and fantastic photographic opportunities. Lion, leopard, cheetah, spotted and brown hyena are amongst the many carnivore species that occur on the reserve. Large herds of free-roaming eland, zebra and wildebeest are seen regularly and many other plains game are also found in the area. Birding at Tuli Wilderness is excellent, with over 350 species identified in the area.
Tuli Wilderness borders on the Limpopo River in the south and on the Motloutse River in the east, and many small tributaries of these rivers criss-cross the land in between. The Tuli area is also rich in archaeological heritage beautiful San rock art sites have been discovered alongside numerous archaeological sites dating back from the Stone Age. Scattered artefacts are still being discovered over the concession.
Tuli Wilderness Camp and the reserve is completely unfenced and game roam freely. As the land is privately owned, off-road game and night drives can be conducted, providing ample opportunity for the best possible game viewing.
The camp is located along the shady floodplain of the Limpopo River, 600 m from the river itself, under the massive riverine trees. Accommodation consists of five comfortable, fully serviced safari-style tents. Each tent sleeps up to two guests in twin single beds and includes en-suite showers and flush toilets; hot water is supplied. Electric fans and both electric and battery-powered lamps are supplied in each tent, and all bed linen, towels and soap are also provided.
Three wholesome meals are provided each day. Camp attendants are on hand to assist guests with unpacking on arrival, service the camp and tents daily, provide hot water in the showers, and ensure that there is a fire going at all times. There is a spotlight overlooking the waterhole at camp. Game such as elephants, leopard, bushbuck, bush pigs, warthogs and African wild cats can be seen drinking at the waterhole just below the camp.
Two activities per day are included in our rates, you can select from the following activities; professionally guided morning or afternoon wilderness walks, professionally-guided game-drives in an open 4x4 safari vehicle, and night drives.
