Welcome to Welbedacht Game & Nature Reserve.

All well spaced and secluded cottages are equipped for self-catering with shady verandas, your own private mountain-water plunge pools, log fireplaces and outside braais (BBQ).

We will entertain you with over 10 km of HIKING trails, designed for all ages and conditions, trough flowery wetlands and fynbos covered mountain trails that follow perennial streams originating from springs on the reserve itself. Alternatively, a 26 km circular MTB trail cuts across the reserve with a further 35+ km in single tracks with dozens of bridges and ramps in the vicinity. For the more leisure visitor, just enjoy the WILDLIFE visiting your cottage from the comfort of your private deck!

Fantastic by

Fantastically relaxing. Great surroundings, bird life and relaxed atmosphere.

Welbedacht Farm - Orchard cottage by

Very neat, clean, quiet setting amongst the orchards with mountains all round. Some lovely walks and great painting scenery.

Beautiful Place by

we stayed at Blue Butterfly - 13 people - it was perfect - beautiful house - comfy beds perfect accommodation - great walks and close to town - highly recommended

Beautiful views at Pine Cottage by

Well equipped cottage, quaint, neat. Loved the setting and the views over the valley and neighbouring dam, the smell of the pine trees, the privacy. I prefer setting of Pine Cottage over 'Stone Cottage', as views are better and more private. Loved the splash pool, that was very welcome. What could be improved was a personal welcome, we collected keys from cupboard and never saw anyone. Was missing tall drinking glasses. Not big deal but it was very hot so it would be nice to poor a big glass of juice with ice. Fridge and bed in same room, fridge noisy, switched it off at night. Nice booklet with information, Map was unclear we never found the dams. Also sadly did not see Zebra's. I do recommend this place. Peaceful. Lots of birds. We did spot the bokkies and Wildebeest. Orchard cottage looked divine. As well as Blue Butterfly. I'd come back.
