O Lar Do Ouro Guest Lodge is located in Ponta do Ouro, on the southernmost tip of Mozambique. It is only accessible by a 4x4 vehicle as there are no tarred roads.

The guest lodge offers a choice of comfortable Double Rooms, the Family Unit or the Self-catering Unit. All the units are air-conditioned and equipped with double or single beds as well as sleeper couches and en-suite bathrooms.

The Self-catering Unit also has a fully equipped kitchen and a private garden with barbecue facilities. Guests can relax in the lounge or cool off in the swimming pool in the tropical garden. The lodge also has a licensed bar.

Lar do Ouro boasts with the most beautiful Tropical garden in Ponta do Ouro.

The reefs in the area are perfect for scuba diving enthusiasts, providing the opportunity to see vibrant coral, whale sharks and manta rays. The area is also known for its whale and dolphin watching. Loggerhead and leatherback turtles are often seen laying their eggs in the sand during the summer months.

Visitors can do some surf fishing for barracuda and kingfish, while deep-sea anglers can pull out marlin, sailfish, king and queen mackerel, various species of tuna and more.

O Lar Do Ouro by

Our family of 4 stayed in the family unit at O Lar Do Ouro over Easter 2013. We were welcomed to a comfortable and adequate guest house. Breakfasts and the optional dinners were delicious. The location is away from the hubbub of town but still convenient with a short stroll into town. Highly recommended.

Short stay in Ponta by

This venue is great for a short stop over. Its a small, cosy venue with a number of chalets. Recently taken over by new management. I believe its a little expensive for what is on offer, but still a good option. Directions were not great, and it was almost impossible to find the place. The units were very clean and comfortable, even though they were rather small.

Wonderful atmosphere and service by

Lisa and Des provided us with a wonderful stay for our Christmas/roadtrip in Moz! Great food and breakfast, welcoming and cosy atmosphere :)

Excellent Hosts! by

Lisa and Des are great and the accommodation was comfortable and provided all that you needed. My only criticism is that the site said the lodge was 300m from the main beach and it was most definately not. It was at least a 1.5 to 2km walk to the sea!

Hostesses who go out of their way for their guests by

Excellent hostesses, Lisa and Des. They really care for their guests' wellbeing and go the extra mile for your stay. We had the self catering cottage. Simple and basic, but considering you practically walk everywhere with sand on you, it only makes sense. We enjoyed their seafood platter one evening with LM Radio station in the background- a blast from the past! I recommend this lodge.

Wonderful Hospitality by

Lisa and Des were wonderful, couldn't of asked for better hosts. food was great and Lisa couldn't stop running around for us on this much needed break. Made sure we had plenty of food and drinks. Very accommodating. Only one complaint ... the break was too short. Thanks first for making us feel at home.
