Ouma se Huis is an original farmhouse where one of the pioneer families of the Boegoeberg Water Scheme has lived since the 1940's. It has been lovingly restored to a self-catering facility for a relaxed and quiet farm stay. The farm still belongs to the family and it produces grapes and lucerne.

Ouma se Huis is situated approximately 75 km from Upington and 45 km from Groblershoop on the way to Namibia, Augrabies, Kgalagadi Transfrontier National Park or Namakwaland. It has two bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms and two bedrooms which share a bathroom. Clean linen, soft towels, tea, coffee, milk and home-made rusks are supplied. The comfortable lounge includes a TV and a fireplace. There is a dining room and a well equipped kitchen for preparing your own food or to enjoy a sociable braai at the outside braai facility. Lots of wood is supplied.

The property is only 500 m from the Orange River where you can have a picnic under the trees, fish, canoe or just enjoy the tranquil surrounds. You can also cool down in the dam on a hot day. Relax in the large garden on a beautiful evening with large trees and lawns with ample space for children to play and enjoy the outdoors. The house can be rented for individuals or as a whole for a family.

We were very privileged to be accepted as guests at this wonderful venue, our star hosts Linda and Kobus made us feel very special. Nothing was too much trouble. We actually felt as if we were family. This would be my number one spot, not to stay one night, but a week.

Wat 'n aangename besoek. Alles so netjies en die oue en nuwe vind mekaar binne die huis. Ons het dadelik tuis gevoel. Baie dankie vir 'n aangename verblyf. As ons weer in daardie rigting ry sal ons julle beslis weer wil besoek. 'Highly recommended'.

Very, very impressed with a clean, warming farm house. Also very friendly people- from Linda to her brother-in-law, Wollie to Petrus. Will use them anytime again.
I dare not forget the rusks.

Just what the traveler ordered by

Clean, comfy, right off the main road, tea and rusks on the house, this was just the spot for a one-night stopover. Tannie Linda and oom Kobus were very warm and welcoming, even taking me for a walk to their spot on the Orange River. Would stop over here again any day!

Beste Gastehuis in die Noordkaap by

Ouma se huis is by verre die beste Gastehuis wat ons nog besoek het. Kobus en Linda het uit hul pad gegaan om die verblyf vir ons so aangenaam moontlik te maak. Heerlike vars plaasmelk en beskuit vir die ekstra bederf. Heerlike moerkoffie en pragtige uitsigte oor die omgewing. Sal beslis weer daar slaap as ons die noordkaap besoek.
