This sleeping beauty, situated beside a beautiful park in a tropical garden, surrounded by 400 year old milk wood trees is one of the oldest estates along the Garden Route. The Lodge, built in 1860, with its wonderful Yellowwood and Oregon pine woodwork and stunning artwork, is located in a peaceful cul-de-sac in central old Mossel Bay.

The lush garden with an extensive herb garden, old palm, banana and papaya trees is the perfect setting for a sumptuous breakfast or traditional dinner served from the grand farm style kitchen.

Tastefully decorated rooms combine comfort and easy living reminiscent of the 19th century, and will ensure a peaceful nights rest with a taste of a bygone era. A tranquil Victorian veranda with 140 year old glass and woodwork surrounds the house and overlooks the Harry Giddy Botanical Park.

The Lodge has 11 rooms, en-suite and shared bathrooms, spacious living areas indoors and out, a lively and an informative travel desk.

We promise a personal service that will help you to get the most out of your time and money. We arrange your trips and activities at no additional cost and will assist you with your itinerary.

Classical, eclectic style by

My recent stay of 10 nights at Park House Lodge will leave lasting memories of a charming vacation. The informal, eclectic style provided a pleasant place to chill from a year charged with work at a hectic pace. My en suite room was modestly furnished, but sufficient. I spent several evenings hanging out in the shared barbecue area with my pal and new mates from the lodge. The old sandstone building with its Oregon pine floors and door posts was marvellous and complemented by an odd collection of art deco furniture in the TV lounge. The lush gardens presented a tranquil environment. A shared kitchen and a bar ensured an easy pace, free from typical hotel constraints. The place was generally well kept, serviced and appointed.

Relaxing by

This relaxing place has been perfect for us traveling with a 3 year old boy. Beautiful garden, very child friendly staff and excellent BBQ. Thanx Neil.

Terrible guesthouse - noise and dirty sheets & towels by

We stayed there for one night only and we got the double room with en-suite bathroom. I am not sure how it is for the backpackers that use it as a hostel so I will not give a comment for the backpacker. But as a guesthouse/lodge is terrible. It said 3 stars but it's very far of what 3 stars mean (and during our holiday we did stay at different places). And moreover: our sheets were very dirty and smelling, our towels were dirty and the cleaning person arranged the bed and the towels like it was all clean. But they also forgot a dirty towel hanged in the bathroom. No soap or showergel. Nosy because there is a fountain/waterfall that runs all night (for some might be pleasant), because upstairs someone went to bed quite late and kept walking around and because in the beautiful court there were people talking and laughing until very late. They did give us a discount after the bad experience, but we will never go back there again.

Overnight by

This establishment should advertise that they are situated next to a very busy tennis court.
