Peter Bonney Clarens Studio Lodge offers quality self-catering accommodation in the quaint village of Clarens. The lodge sleeps four people in two bedrooms. It is located in the very heart of the village but at the same time offers tranquil privacy in a secluded tree-filled garden.
The open-plan living space has a comfortable lounge area with a TV with full DStv service. A cast-iron slow-combustion stove provides warmth during the winter months as well as the perfect setting for a romantic candlelit dinner around the antique oak dining table. The fully fitted kitchen makes self-catering a pleasure and the dishwasher and microwave add to the convenience factor. The living area opens onto a garden patio with braai facilities.
Peter Bonney is widely acknowledged as being among the leaders in the hyper-realist genre of contemporary painting in South Africa. His lodge is located on the same property as his studio and gallery, which is within easy walking distance of the villiage square with all of its amenities including shops, restaurants and art galleries as well as Claren's very own micro-brewery. Guests are able to park securely on the lodge property and then explore most of what Clarens has to offer on foot.
Clarens offers easy access to the Golden Gate National Park where one can enjoy a range of hiking trails of between one- and five hours' duration. Game thrives in the park and the rare Cape bearded vulture can be viewed from the hide at the vulture restaurant.
