The 4-Star Pleasant Places Guesthouse offers stylish, yet comfortable accommodation in a quiet setting, overlooking the Lions River and picturesque farming and forest scenes. The rooms are furnished with comfortable king- or queen-size beds, with some rooms having a sleeper couch available on request. The Family Unit also has twin beds and it can sleep up to five people. Visitors can relax in the lounge, on the patio overlooking the Lions River or find a quiet spot in the rambling garden. In winter log fires warm the lounge and dining room. The large number of trees in the garden, the pine forest along the river and the Blue gum forest higher up are alive with numerous species of birds to delight keen bird watchers. There are several species of buck in the pastures and forests and, though timid, have been seen from time to time. A number of sections along the river are suitable for swimming. Those into mountain biking can ride around in the district and the more adventurous can tour the famed Midlands Meander route. There are a few stables around offering horse outrides. Golfers can arrange a game on the nearby Bosch Hoek Estate Golf Club, known as one of the prettiest in the country or at the Sakabula Club in Howick. The farm is situated in the centre of the famed Midlands Meander arts and crafts route and visitors can enjoy a day or two driving around seeing all the goods and services offered by the various members.
