PMB Backpackers is situated in the safe suburb of Scottsville, Pietermaritzburg. The lodge offers budget accommodation near the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN) and Durban University of Technology (DUT). It is near a range of restaurants and within walking distance of the town centre.

The backpackers has a number of rooms to suit couples, groups, students, contractors and tourists. It is set in a large property and offers a range of services and facilities to guests. The house has a fully equipped kitchen for preparing meals, a lounge area with a TV with DStv. All the rooms have fans and bed linen is provided. Meals are available on request.

The property has safe parking internet, braai facilities and a laundry service.

This place has a great, friendly staff. They are always very welcoming and accommodating. The rooms are simple and dated but it has a pretty good, quiet location just south of town and for the price is a good deal. The place does often boast quite a "backpacker" clientele so if your purpose is to have a quiet evening or prepare for something early in the morning, don't expect peace.

Good one night stay.  Accommodation with parking vehicles inside.  Rather warm at night so a fan would be good.  Clean.

Friendly , accommodative staff. Didn't stay long and much to take note of things. Clean rooms. Improve on bedding.
