Rhenosterpoort, situated in the Waterberg Mountains and disected by the Rhenoster River, is an unspoilt piece of paradise that has been a regular destination for hikers since 1996. There are two marked hiking trails of 10 km and 12 km. There have been many requests in the past for a different type of accommodation to the very primitive bush camps and the result is a self-catering chalet overlooking a farm dam on the Rhenoster River. Ideal for a peaceful family getaway, we offer game drives, a choice of two marked hiking trails, fishing, and bird watching. Also perfect for just relaxing in the peaceful natural surroundings. The area is malaria-free and the proximity of the chalet to a permanent water source means that this is the perfect place to visit in the summer. Kids will love swimming in all the natural rock pools. There are many activities in the area that your host Sharyn will help book. Visit the Marakele National Park, go on a Big 5 game drive at Kololo Nature Reserve, spend some time on the Cheetah Feeding Tour at the de Wildt Shingwedzi Cheetah Farm, and much more. The Stone Chalet sleeps four in an open-plan bedroom with a double-bed and a double-bunk, and has an en-suite bathroom and fully-equipped kitchenette. There is a private braai area with place for a campfire to sit around, ideal for a cool sun-downer after a hot summer's day. Please take note that no pets are allowed.
