Situated right behind the Calitzdorp Dutch Reformed Church in the centre of town, Riebeeck Huis, built in the typical Karoo style, from clay bricks and straw, was first mentioned in documents of more than 100 years ago.
The house has three private bedrooms, three bathrooms, a lounge, a fully equipped kitchen, laundry room and a spacious family room with indoor braai and patio doors to the deck and the garden. The spacious house is ideal for larger groups or families to enjoy. The thick walls and sash windows with original glass are fine examples of the building style of the period. The stunning original Oregon pine floors, doors and high ceilings in the greater part of the house have been painstakingly restored. The front stoep has a curved roof.
The house overlooks the mountains and an apricot orchard with the most beautiful Pecan Nut tree in Calitzdorp dominating the view. Our garden boasts apricot trees which bear superb apricots during November and a quince tree.
