Rio dos Elefantes River Camp is magnificently proportioned on the Olifants and the Blyderivier. The camp is situated on the northern bank of the Olifantsriver in the Balule Nature Reserve that forms part of the Greater Kruger National Park. The Camp on a rise above the river lies surrounded by sprawling lawns and dwarfed by huge indigenous trees. The river which shelters a great many aquatic creatures such as hippo and crocodiles is also a haven for the many antelope species, elephant and the inevitable carnivores found in these parts. For Bird lovers, the abundance of water and giant trees, harbors a wide variety of birds. From the magnificent Fish Eagle to the smallest marsh dweller.

Only a few things which in my opinion if attended to, it will make the place excellent:
1. Cleanliness of the bedding material requires a complete overhaul. Otherwise request guests to bring own bedding material which will not be convenient for holiday makers
2. The house is too big for the a common geyser. The space is very good for a big group like ours, but challenges come when we all want to bath. It is my suggestion that each bedroom must have its own geyser and the big room to have an additional bathroom & toilet.
A little Paradise in the Bush by Cheryll Sanders 03 January 2018 We spent 8 magical nights at Rio Dos Elefantes. The views over the river are breath taking. We saw Elephants...lots of Buck... a family of playful Vervet monkeys.. Bush babies...hippos and crocs from the deck in front of our room almost everyday. The bird life is prolific..Agnes the owner and her staff made us feel like family. WE WILL BE BACK!! The other staff personnel deserved a 5 ? ratting.
