River Place

With a stunning riverside setting on the northern outskirts of Johannesburg, River Place is a picturesque venue for romantic getaways, gastronomic experiences, weddings, special events and conferences, spread over 18 hectares of scenic mountain valley bushland.

Taking full advantage of its prime riverfront position along the banks of the Hennops River, River Place is renowned for its al Fiume riverside restaurant and Mediterranean-inspired cuisine, and is the perfect setting for a romantic dinner or to celebrate a special event. Other dining venues at River Place include sprawling lawns for picnics and the Rock Boma, offering al fresco dining beside a crackling fire, ideal for special occasions.

The River View lapa-style venue and the Mountain View stone farmhouse are private function rooms that can be used for conferences, weddings or special events for up to 18 and 48 guests respectively. Both venues have deck areas and views of the surrounding hills.

For a romantic getaway, special event or overnight conference, River Place offers 16 deluxe cottage-style rooms and three stone-clad suites. The light, airy rooms are comfortably furnished with full en-suite bathrooms and private patios. The luxurious suites are located closer to the river and have king-sized beds and separate lounge areas.

For guests who want to get closer to nature, there is a 5 kilometer hiking trail in the mountain valley, which is best followed by a picnic on the lawn.
