RIVERNEST BOUTIQUE COTTAGES REVIEWS (20 %) Mediocre stay by Anja Van Schalkwyk 27 May 2017 We travel quite a bit and when I saw the photos on the internet we thought wow what a beautiful little place tucked away in Maun. This all changed however when we arrived, we had a late check in as we were driving from South Africa, we decided to grab some take always before checking in as it was self catering accommodation, there was one plate and no cutlery in their "fully stocked" kitchen. We then wanted to switch on the television and found the remote not working and also there was an extra single bed in the corner of the lounge which made it really cramped. When we wanted to lock the front door the lock was broken and it took us almost 10minutes to get the lock to work. The next morning when we wanted to make coffee there was no kettle in the room, I then tried to boil some water on the stove but the stove wasn't working. Whilst my other half was having a shower in the morning the housekeeping just came into the room without knocking or anything. We gave some laundry to be washed that morning and in the evening when we came back the laundry wasn't returned and none of the dustbins were emptied, still no kettle! On our last morning at 09:30 there was a knock on the door to remind us that check out was at 10:00, I then enquirer about our laundry and the lady said yes it was still wet, I then asked for it back and received it dripping wet. When we were busy checking out there was a bill of P130 for laundry and when I asked the lady if they honestly expect us to pay for wet laundry she said well at least pay P90, the service was really unfriendly and cold.
