Rooidam Cottage is the ideal stop-over between Gauteng and the Cape Peninsula because we are situated on the halfway-mark of the N12 and only 1 km off the road.The three star Self-catering accommodation consist of 3 Cottages and an Apartment with basically the same layout, kitchenette with an adjacent room with two single beds and a main sleeping room with a double bed. Satellite TV is also available. The cottages are close to the homestead but free-standing. Karee has a full en-suite bathroom. Bloubos has an en-suite bathroom with a shower. The Granaat cottage is a double storey. On the groundfloor is a double bed and full bathroom. Upstairs are a double bed and 2 single beds with toilet and basin. The Apartment is part of the owner's home but totally private. It has a spacious bedroom with 2 double beds. In the adjacent kitchenette is also 1 single bed. Bathroom with shower. The units are neat, clean, and spacious.Everything you should need is inside. We offer safe parking under a shaded-net, car-port or trees, outside plug for fridges, walking, swimming, tennis, bird watching, braai-facilities and bright star-nights. Come and enjoy the space and silence of a working Karoo-farm. Go for a walk to unwind and experience the wide open space and stunning sunsets.

Absolutely fantastic by

My hosts were concerned and friendly. The accommodation is beautiful, clean and filled with lovely little touches, e.g. fresh flowers, fresh milk, delicious home-baked rusks and muesli. I find it regrettable that i have to share my good luck in finding the place. I would prefer to keep it a close-kept secret!

Wonderful owner, took us for a walk to see the lambs and encouraged us to pick some wonderful oranges to take with. Cottage so comfortable, beautiful and relaxing. Perfect overnight stop - remember to bring some lamb to braai!!

I received a warm wonderful welcome on arrival. My pets were easily accomodated and my puppy absolutely loved the farm. This always my go to place when traveling up from Cape Town. It's conveniently located and I love the rusks available in the Chalet.

Excellent halfway stop by

Excellent half way stop between Johannesburg and Cape Town. the N12 is perhaps a bit futher than the N1, but Rooidam Cottage is worth the trip! Would actually love to stay there for a weekend. True karoo hospitality, convienient and there is an honesty to the place that that bring back memories of yesterday. They have managed to capture modernday convienice with the building style and decor of yesteryear. Place is a gem!
