Perfectly situated along the lower La Lucia Beaches in Umhlanga Rocks just north of Durban, we offer self-catering accommodation for the holidaymaker, businessperson or a weekend getaway. Just walk across the road and savour an un-crowded beach, where you can enjoy a leisurely stroll, a romantic picnic, sunbathe, or have a refreshing sundowner. You can also fish in the ocean, surf, canoe, or even learn to kite surf.

Seaside Cottage is located close to the main access roads and is just 20 minutes from King Shaka International Airport and five to 10 minutes from the Point Waterfront, uShaka Marine World, Suncoast Casino, Durban City Centre, The International Convention Centre, Umhlanga Village, Umhlanga Ridge Office Park, Gateway Theatre of Shopping, Sibiya Casino and Entertainment Kingdom, the Moses Mabhida Soccer Stadium, and the ABSA Rugby Stadium. We are also just five minutes from Virginia Airport, about eight minutes from Beachwood Golf course, and roughly 10 minutes from Durban Country Club. In addition, we are in close proximity to a variety of tourist attractions, great restaurants, coffee shops, supermarkets, restaurants and other shops, as well as Virgin Active Gym.

Umhlanga Rocks is known internationally as the holiday mecca of KwaZulu-Natal, with its magnificent beaches and friendly locals. KZN has some fantastic game parks offering safari tours in which you have a chance of seeing Africa's Big 5. The beautiful Drakensberg Mountains offer skiing,and quad tours up and down Sani Pass. KZN also boasts the Valley of 1,000 Hills, zulu dancing and township tours for that cultural experience. Other attractions include four world-class golf courses, dolphin-viewing, whale-watching, deep-sea diving and game fishing, to name a few.

All units have been tastefully decorated and we can accommodate a total of 16 guests. The units are serviced three times a week, on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, except on Public Holidays. Other days for servicing the unit can be arranged at an additional cost, if required.

The room we stayed in was small but perfect for the weekend, close to the beach and all other facilities, we enjoyed our stay

FAMILY COTTAGE by

The Family Cottage is very small, Toilet and shower right next to the kitchen not for me. In my opinion not big enough for 6 people - 4 max will propably stay comfortable enough. The beds were very comfortable and the linen clean. The rooms do not have space to move around in, there is harldy space for one suitcase in the room. I also found the cutlery and crockery not very clean and had to wash it before using it. The lady housitting for the owners was very friendly and very helpfull. Overall the facilities were very neat and well kept. All the airconditioners were in a good working order as was the TV and DSTV. Not a bad experience overall but if you need your space this cottage is not for you.
