SIPHUMLAKAHLE GUESTHOUSE REVIEWS (55 %) Siphumlakahle Guesthouse closed when booked by Christa Van Der Merwe, South Africa 27 August 2012 I booked a week in advance and paid in full but when we arrived at 13:00 at the guesthouse....nobody home and no answer. Landline cut off. I kept on phoning and sending sms's through the afternoon and then at last at 16:00 somebody opened the door. It was the owner's brother and he knew nothing about our stay. I wanted to contact SafariNow to claim my money back and go elsewhere but this nice gentleman insisted that he will accommodate us, although unexpected for him. His sister went away and forgot about us. The stay was pleasant and the brother really went out of his way to make it pleasant. The room and breakfast was nice. Although a nice facility, this cannot happen. How can you run a guesthouse and forget about guests who already paid ? Thanks, Christa vd Merwe. Uncomfortable by Janusz Warchol, South Africa 03 September 2012 The stay at this guesthouse was the worst from all the accommodation that we used during our trip from Upington to Kimberley. No soap holders in bathroom, kettle cable doesn't reach the power socket. Lights not functional. Tap in basin runs water onto a glass which was not cleaned. Bed is against the wall which is inconvenient for the person lying near the wall to get off bed. No ashtrays outside for smoking. Spider webs on ceiling. Sorry but I will definitely not recommend it to anyone. The room was nice and clean, the staff was very friendly and in the morning for breakfast the daughter was our "waitress"; such a polite and sweet girl!
It was quiet and relaxed and they even want to built up the area around the guesthouse with a swimmingpool and more rooms. It's also very close to the tourist attraction "The Big Hole".
