Located on an international site of conscience, a former slave market, St Monica's Hostel welcomes you to its rich and intriguing Saracen architecture, lush gardens and Christ Church Cathedral.

Resting in the heart of Stone Town, the hostel is just minutes from the airport, within walking distance of the beach and shops, and a short drive away from the Spice Market and the Jozani Forest.

Sitting atop the former slave chambers, accommodation comprises single, double and triple atrium rooms, of which some have balconies and overlook the gardens.

At St. Monica's you will feel you are on historic and holy ground. After the abolition of slavery in 1873, the Slave Market land was purchased and Christ Church Cathedral established. Here you will feel the story of redemption and humanity's heart for freedom and dignity come alive.
