There are 2 couches and a coffee table. Dining is on a deck with mountain views. DStv, Wi-Fi, and parking behind closed secure gate. The driveway is steep but the drive is handled easily by going straight up with easy parking. Fully-equipped with linen and crockery. Not suitable for pets or children. Also available for short-term lets. Close to shops, restaurants and beautiful beaches.

TREE REST REVIEWS (60 %) Accommodation is nice but access was a problem by Rina Podbielski, South Africa 19 February 2015 The accommodation was very nice but the following happened:
I did not receive an e-mail from the owner with instructions to phone the tenant at the establishment as we were already in Cape Town and I did not have access to e-mail.
There was no street number on your directions and there is no doorbell or signage as to Swallows Rest. Although my cell number on Safari now was incorrect, the owner did pick up the correct number when I left several messages on her phone.
I could not get hold of the owner as she was at a place with no signal. It took us 45 minutes of standing in the street with a neighbour and many calls to security (non existent) before we finally had access. Then, to our amazement, the access to the cottage is in our view, most dangerous. The driveway is incredibly steep and at an angle and we gave up trying to park our vehicle. We ended up being dropped off and picked up which was a huge inconvenience. The owner then advised us that we were supposed to reverse out of the driveway!
Also, the path to the cottage is in our view dangerous as it is high and narrow without any hand rail. The owner gave us a complimentary night but unfortunately our stay was spoiled by being unable to go out when we wanted to. I feel that there should be a warning about the driveway and access.
Establishment Response:
A new parking area has been established at the bottom of the driveway for easier parking so guests now have the choice of two parking areas. Extra lighting has been fitted for easier access. We do not consider the entry access at all ?dangerous'. The stone wall has been especially designed to provide a pleasant curved walkway under the trees to the upstairs unit. Our tenant will now be dealing with all new enquiries and is contactable at all times as she resides in the main house of the property.
Home away from home by Russell Widdop, South Africa 01 April 2015 Cosy, welcoming and peaceful. Exceptionally clean. Drivewayis steep but just put car in first gear and up you go. A second parking isunder construction at the moment lower down the drive if you have troublegetting to the top one. We had the host's number so phonedher to organise when we could book in. Had a lovely stay even if it was foronly one night.
