Tembo Hotel

Tembo Hotel is situated in the heart of Zanzibar, in Stone Town, by the picturesque seafront. There is a long beach in front the hotel for safe swimming and sunbathing. As the hotel is situated on such a prime location, guests don't have to go far to find shops and restaurants.

Services include laundry facilities, an Internet café with wireless Internet access and the Bahari Restaurant which offers excellent local- and international cuisine. The refreshing water of the swimming pool will be a delight after a busy day of sightseeing.

The Tembo Hotel has an array of antique furniture and ornaments from all over the world. The bedrooms have unique Swahili beds and the wood is intricately carved, which is rarely seen in many countries. Most of our rooms have balconies overlooking the beach or the swimming pool courtyard. Each bedroom is self-contained and equipped with air-conditioning, a fridge, a telephone and Cable TV.

The beautiful main building has had various functions over the past centuries. Between 1834 and 1884 it served as the American Consulate in Zanzibar, then passed on to become trading offices.

The Beit-al-Ajaib of House of wonders is only a stone's throw away, this landmark building is the largest and tallest building in Stone Town. Flanking the Beit-al-Ajaib is the Old Fort on one side and the Palace Museum on the other side.
