Thaba Tholo game farm is a self-catering game farm nestled in the Waterberg mountain range in the Limpopo Province, just a 2 hour drive from Johannesburg.

Accommodation is ideal for a group of people or a family and is exclusively for your own private use and enjoyment. The main dwelling comprises of a farm house which includes a lounge, a dining room, a fully equipped kitchen, four bedrooms and two bathrooms. The living area leads out onto the pool and Jacuzzi which also offer undercover braai facilities. Further accommodation includes a separate cottage with two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with two single beds both with en-suite. Total accommodation allows for 12 people. There is permanently connected DStv in the lounge. A variety of game species roams this farm which includes njala, impala, sable, wildebeest, kudu, waterbuck, springbuck, and zebra.

Activities include walking trails, cycling, game viewing and swimming. The game farm borders onto Euphoria Golf Estate which can be accessed via the cableway from the mountain top. Euphoria Golf Estate offers sundowner restaurant, 18-hole golf course, clubhouse, health spa as well as wedding and conference facilities.

A pleasant surprise by

Traveling to it we didnt know what to expect but once we arrived Koos the farm manager was extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The accommodation was fantastic. Priscilla kept in contact running up to our stay which made a huge difference. A perfect place for a weekend getaway and we will be back.

Huge, Tranquil Property with Nature at your doorstep! by

I could not recommend Thaba Tholo more!I t was so much better than i expected it to be. The property is spacious and well kept. There is lots of space to relax, be it by the braai where the wonderful Jacuzzi is, to the boma, or the chairs by the pool. The animals are fed very near to the house, and you make wake up in the morning to find a zebra on your doorstep! The stars at the farm are so bright, you can see the whole milkyway. Sitting by the boma at night, watching the stars was one of my favourite parts about the getaway. There is also a helper there for those who require one, and Koos was very helpful and full of knowledge. The beds are extremely comfortable as well which is rare at such a reasonably priced establishment. There are a few little tweaks that could help make the house at Thaba Tholo perfect, however it is definitely value for money, and i hope to visit again soon!

Absolute peace and quiet by

We were 2 families looking to spend new year's in peace and quiet. The house is spacious and the setting great. The pool and jacuzzi were most welcome in the heat. Koos and the staff were great and we appreciated the game drives, fire wood and assistance. A few problems though, the two bathrooms in the main house each had only one bath and hand towel, the two bathrooms in the cottage had no towels or toilet paper. Water pressure in the cottage was so low that the showers couldn't be used. The house is really dirty, kitchen cupboards chaotic and dishes had to be washed before we could use them as there obviously was a mouse living there. Cobwebs and dead bugs everywhere, and very dirty main bathroom with old candle wax drippings and dirt around the bath. The house really needs a spring clean and ceilings painted! Would we go again? Yes, the space, tranquility and views are worth it.

We loved being exposed to nature and also being educated on it which helped us with understanding the animals habits and habitats the team was it was a nice retreat
