The Crooked HouseWatamu, Kilifi County, Kenya Self-catering (family units from R 3,490) | R 3,490 |
Set on the south side of Kilifi Creek, The Crooked House is one three guest houses set overlooking the magnificent entrance to the creek, commanding spectacular views of the Indian Ocean, with direct access to sandy coves below.
The recently refurbished house sleeps up to eight guests and is set over two floors and faces east, overlooking the entrance to Kilii Creek. The house has the ambience of a Mediterranean villa, with stunning views from both the gardens as well as the upstairs verandah. A paved patio perched on the creek cliff allows the perfect opportunity to watch the Jahazi dhows returning from their day's catch as the sun sets.
All four large double bedrooms feature king-size four poster beds, mosquito nets, overhead fans, and en-suite bathrooms. Features include an inside sitting room with banquette seating, a dining room, fully equipped kitchen, and a rear Tuscany courtyard also with banquette seating, a pergola and exotic palm foliage - ideal for al fresco dining. In addition, the house is fully staffed, including a cook.
