The Fever Tree Guest House is set on the edge of Hluhluwe in the heart of Zululand, in northern KwaZulu-Natal. This small town is situated between iSimangaliso Wetland Park and Hluhluwe-iMfolozi Game Reserve. Our name was inspired by the beautiful fever trees that are so much part of this area.

On this property, where everything that grows is either indigenous or edible, we offer a service that combines comfort and style with an ecological consciousness.

At The Fever Tree, we offer four creatively decorated rooms with beautifully fitted en-suite bathrooms. This guest house with the customary coffee and tea making facilities and an earthy-African ambience that will make your stay here close to perfect.

All rooms have remote controlled televisions with six television channels, including M-Net and selected DStv channels, ceiling fans, air-conditioning and towels are provided. Three rooms have private entrances and a small kitchenette. Guests have free use of the splash pool.

Our dining and reception room rooms opens on to the beautiful garden and swimming pool, while the lounge and other rooms have a view of the front garden. Birdlife is abundant, so bring along your binoculars and you could well be rewarded with some wonderful sightings.

Passionate hospitality by

The owner Tracy is amazingly hospitable and the most friendly host in KZN. She took us on a game drive which was not expected and not paid for as an extra as most places charge for it. She packed us breakfast for a picnic at Simangaliso. We are definitely coming back. This is a small jewel in Hluhluwe.

Great experience by

Excellent facility and awesome host, with clean comfortable facility and friendly atmosphere. Dinner (optional) was outstanding and breakfast a treat. I would recommend to anyone and will definately stay there, in the future.

SNQA - Kelly by

Tracy was very hospitable, flexible and accommodating. The rooms were more than adequate with surprisingly well equipped self-catering facilities.
The hot water supply in the showers was a bit dodgy.
Meals were good, with generous portions and attentive service.

Grave is a Nice person by

Overpriced and no privacy
It felt Like a prison

Establishment's response:

Dear Mr and Mrs van Rossenberg,

I am so sorry that our guest house did not live up to your expectations.

I am sure you are aware that this is a guest house as our name states, not a resort and not a lodge. We offer basic self-catering facilities for guests who want to see to their own meals. The room you selected clearly states on Safari Now that it has a kitchenette. At no time did we misrepresent what we offer.

I can accept that this was not quite what you expected, but what I cannot accept is the rude and abrupt way that you treated my staff. It is such a shame that we do not have the facility to review our guests as it would surely make for better behaviour when things are not going your way

Sincerely

Tracey

Beautiful! by

A beautiful, tranquil guest house in the heart of Hluhluwe, Zululand. Close to the Hluhluwe/iMfolozi Game Reserve. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful, and Tracey is a mine of information on the area. The garden is beautiful and it was great to sleep in a quiet, tranquil environment, where I could hear the Nightjar's call in the night, and the birds singing in the morning. The room is beautifully decorated and had everything I needed if I wanted to cater for myself. I took advantage of the delicious dinner and breakfast available at a great price, which was warm, nutritious and delicious, with Papaya's from the Guest House's own garden. I will definitely stay there again and would recommend it to anybody looking for good accommodation in the area. It has a great, positive aura and the owners pay great attention to detail for a wonderful stay.
