The Golden Grape Bed and Breakfast is situated in the small town of Lutzville, near Vrendendal, in the wine-growing area on the banks of the Olifants River close to the Atlantic Ocean on the West Coast. We offer four comfortable en-suite rooms as well as a two-bedroom self-catering flatlet.
The Golden Grape is an ideal stopover between Cape Town and Namibia, located just 25 minutes off the N7 and 20 minutes from the Diamond Coast. For wine-lovers, the Olifants Wine Route is the thing to do. Starting at Seal Breeze Winery, the smallest of the route, owner Mrs Joan Wiggins makes her own unique wines the authentic way, by hand, with no machinery involved. Then onto Lutzville Vineyards, the second largest winery in the country, where Lydia will welcome you for an unforgettable wine tasting. From there it's on to Keukenhof Winery, approximately 10 km from Lutzville, also for its authentic wine-making.
Not far from The Golden Grape on the Diamond West Coast are the two small popular seaside villages of Strandfontein and Doornbaai, known for their South African lobsters or crayfish. During early spring, the area also boasts world-renowned carpets of wild flowers which spread as far as the eye can see.
