The HabitWorcester, Western Cape, South Africa Self-catering from R 490 (family units from R 2,000) | R 490 |
The Habit is a unique building in that it was home to the Secular Sisters of Schoonstadt before being converted into a beautiful guest house. The serenity of The Habit, possibly due to all the prayers over a 60 year period, is enhanced by the high pressed ceilings, wooden floors, and beds dressed in crisp white linen.
Large verandas and louvered shutters give a cooling effect in the long summer days. The cosy lounge is equipped with an honesty bar. An eye-catching outdoor feature is a large swimming pool set in the centre of an attractive country garden, abounding with the twitter of birds.
For those guests who wish to do their own thing or like travelling with their animals, the three self-catering garden cottages, Oak, Jacaranda and Pepper Tree are ideal. Each has their own secure private garden if you do decide to bring ?Boomer? on holiday.
The guest house is centrally situated in the ?old town? which has more gabled buildings than any other town in South Africa, and every gable is different. It is within easy walking distance of restaurants, most of the schools, and other places of interest. In fact nothing is very much more than five to 10 minutes away.
Dinner is also available by prior arrangement. The dining area opens onto a lovely deck and on beautiful moonlit evenings there is nothing nicer than sitting outside and dining under the starry sky.
