Situated on the edge of the beautiful village of Barrydale, the Red Rooster is a private and free-standing cottage that's sleeps two.

Reached via the Tradouw Pass, the entrance to the Klein Karoo, the cottage is surrounded by a wild organic garden and overlooks spectacular mountain views. It is also within walking distance of all amenities.

There is one double bed downstairs and one in the loft. The downstairs is an open plan, light space, which opens onto a secluded patio. It has a fully equipped kitchen and a bathroom. It is suitable for two people but can accommodate a further two, and is also the ideal place for creative people and nature lovers.

Cosy and relaxing by

We thoroughly enjoyed our 4 day stay at the Red Rooster. Theneat and pretty cottage had everything you need for a relaxing and peacefulescape from the city, incl. a cosy fireplace and extra blankets for thosechilly winter nights. The back yard with its amazing views on Barrydale and themountains was the perfect place to soak up the winter sun.

Joan and Terry were perfect hosts, supplying us with enoughfirewood, inside information about the area and inviting us to pick some herbsand greens from their most amazing garden.



Sweet and humble by

Such a pretty little town. The Red Rooster has a subtle warm small town sense of humor I really appreciated with a delicious vegetable garden to boot:). 

Two nights at the Red Rooster by

We had a warm welcome. The accommodation was clean and neat with a lovely setting. The kitchen could do with a few more items. A baking pan for instance. A braai area outside would also be nice. I would recommend this accommodation. Affordable comfortable accommodation.

Great stay by

Spent one night at the Red Rooster on our Route62 trip. A cute little place - not for luxury and long stays but more than adequate for one night. Loved the little stove - really warmed up the place.

The quiet setting in a lovely herby vegetable garden, the trees were blossoming and you felt like you were far far away.
