The Rose of Sharon offers five newly renovated apartments. The apartments are fully equipped self-catering units. The units offer porcelain tiled floors, granite kitchen counters and modern fixtures and fittings. The accommodation is comfortable yet simple.

The five apartments each have a double bed and sleeper couches. They have en-suite bathrooms with showers. All are self-catering with fully equipped kitchens. Guests are required to bring their own towels and toiletries.

The property has a jungle gym, a trampoline, and a pool table for entertainment and overlooks the Illovo River and the Indian Ocean

The apartments are a two minute drive and a 10-minute walk from the beach and a mere 30 kilometres from central Durban. Is is only seven kilometres to the Gallaria Mall which has many eating houses, a cinema and entertainment.

Illovo Beach is a small holiday destination where sunbathing and fishing are the order of events. Being along the South Coast of KwaZulu-Natal, the waters are warm and ideal for swimming. There are many things to do in the area like visit uShaka Marine World or travel to the city to enjoy the shops and nightlife.

We enjoy our stay at The Rose of Sharon, it is very neat and the owner Sherel was so nice and helpfull we can really recommend this place.  It has also a beautiful view and we will go back

Not Great - please double check before you book by

The Rooms are located in someone's backyard and super hot with not ventilation. The pictures of the river and sea is smoke and mirrors - you have to go around the corner to have a view. You can only sleep there - no facilities or so called game room. Do not pay your deposit.
