Thuru Lodge forms part of the Kalahari, consisting of approximately 45 000 acres owned by Hennie Gous and his family. The Reserve has a very unique variety of vegetation types, which broadly classified into Nama Karoo, Kalahari and Karoo mountain vegetation. This wide range of veld types creates a rich biodiversity, which provide suitable habitats for a wide variety of fauna and flora. Thuru Lodge is located in the Northern Cape Province approximately 100 km south east of the town Upington, between the southern latitudes 28°53' and 28°59' and the eastern longitudes 21°42' and 21°49' in the Nama Karoo Biome. The 8 luxurious air conditioned double rooms with their crisp while linen have spacious en-suite bathrooms, satellite TV and internet connections, telephone, minibars, under floor heating.
